Berry starter kit IQOS in Australia: the cheap shortlist
Berry in Australia: 14 units tested over 3 weeks, starter kit formats, priced per 10 ml for Australia.
How we tested Berry starter kit here
Berry prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Australia that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within A$2.32 per 10 ml.
Most people searching IQOS in Australia are not after a spec sheet. They want to know what it costs, how long it lasts and which shop will still service it in three months.
The short version: berry in Australia works if the starter kit, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a berry starter kit really costs in Australia
We run berry the same way in Australia: same starter kit, same 3 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
How we tested berry in a starter kit
- Pick the starter kit that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 4–9 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- Batch code and production date, so a berry bottle turned in 3 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is 20 mg/mL in Australia, not a suggestion.
Where berry goes wrong
- Mixing berry with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
- Assuming 20 mg/mL is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
- Ignoring the batch date on a starter kit and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
The rules that apply here
Australia caps nicotine at 20 mg/ml outside legal prescription channels.

Frequently asked questions
Why does berry taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the starter kit units we ran, a coil past 6 days turned the berry blend itself harsh.
What nicotine strength should berry start at?
Start at whatever Australia allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a starter kit.
Is buying in bulk actually cheaper?
Not automatically. On berry the budget price and the premium price can sit within A$2.32 per 10 ml once 4–9 business days is counted.
