Plain RDA IQOS in Australia: the best shortlist
Plain in Australia: 21 units tested over 3 weeks, RDA formats, priced per 10 ml for Australia.
How we tested Plain RDA here
Plain sounds like one product. It is not: a RDA running 20 mg/mL will taste nothing like the same blend on a different device, which is why we test before we recommend.
We run plain the same way in Australia: same RDA, same 3 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
If you only read one line: the RDA you buy decides how long plain tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a plain RDA really costs in Australia
The honest read on plain: 21 units through the same routine over 3 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.
How we tested plain in a RDA
- Pick the RDA that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is 20 mg/mL in Australia, not a suggestion.
- Batch code and production date, so a plain bottle turned in 3 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- Stock depth: 21 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
Where plain goes wrong
- Assuming 20 mg/mL is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
- Skipping the spare coil, which is the single part that decides how long plain in Australia survives.
- Ignoring the batch date on a RDA and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
The rules that apply here
Australia caps nicotine at 20 mg/ml outside legal prescription channels. Shipping of nicotine to Australia runs through tracked freight only, which is why the quoted window is stated per order.

Not automatically. On plain the budget price and the premium price can sit within A$1.97 per 10 ml once 4–9 business days is counted.
What nicotine strength should plain start at?
Start at whatever Australia allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a RDA.

Yes, tracked dispatch before 14:00, and delivery lands in 4–9 business days. Stock is batch-traced, so the bottle you receive carries a dated code.
