Plain starter kit IQOS in Australia: the deals shortlist
Plain in Australia: 6 units tested over 2 weeks, starter kit formats, priced per 10 ml for Australia.
Delivery, returns and what 4–9 business days really means
A plain starter kit from the discounted options in Australia costs about A$2.17 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
Plain in Australia reaches the shelf in starter kit formats, and the discounted ones are rarely the ones that stay in stock. Availability, not taste, is what breaks an order.
If you only read one line: the starter kit you buy decides how long plain tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a plain starter kit really costs in Australia
Most people searching IQOS in Australia are not after a spec sheet. They want to know what it costs, how long it lasts and which shop will still service it in three months.
How we tested plain in a starter kit
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Australia, which is 20 mg/mL for retail here.
- Pick the starter kit that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- Stock depth: 6 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every plain bottle shipped into Australia.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is 20 mg/mL in Australia, not a suggestion.
Where plain goes wrong
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in Australia accept nicotine freight.
- Treating the advertised A$54 entry kit as the real cost when refills run A$2.17 per 10 ml.
- Assuming 20 mg/mL is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
The rules that apply here
Retail sales in Australia sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is 20 mg/mL. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.

Frequently asked questions
What nicotine strength should plain start at?
Start at whatever Australia allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a starter kit.
How long does plain in a starter kit last?
In Australia we measured 2 to 6 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
How much does a starter kit cost per 10 ml?
On the last run in Australia: about A$2.17 per 10 ml liquid plus A$54 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
