Sour pen device IQOS in Australia: the review shortlist
Sour in Australia: 8 units tested over 5 weeks, pen device formats, priced per 10 ml for Australia.
Where buyers go wrong with sour in Australia
We run sour the same way in Australia: same pen device, same 5 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
The honest read on sour: 8 units through the same routine over 5 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.
Below is the run we did for this search: 8 units, pen device, same room temperature, same juice rotation. Where results varied, the variation is printed rather than averaged away.
What a sour pen device really costs in Australia
Most people searching IQOS in Australia are not after a spec sheet. They want to know what it costs, how long it lasts and which shop will still service it in three months.
How we tested sour in a pen device
- Pick the pen device that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Spare parts availability for pen device in Australia, since tanks and pods go first.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is 20 mg/mL in Australia, not a suggestion.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every sour bottle shipped into Australia.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
Where sour goes wrong
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in Australia accept nicotine freight.
- Buying the cheapest pen device available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why sour tastes flat after two days.
The rules that apply here
Australia caps nicotine at 20 mg/ml outside legal prescription channels.
Retail sales in Australia sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is 20 mg/mL. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.

| Nicotine ceiling | 20 mg/mL | Legal retail limit in Australia |

| Entry kit | A$50 | What a first order really pays |
| Refill cost | A$1.9 / 10 ml | The figure that decides the habit |

Frequently asked questions
What nicotine strength should sour start at?
Start at whatever Australia allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a pen device.
How long does sour in a pen device last?
In Australia we measured 5 to 8 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
Do you ship tracked orders to Australia?
Yes, tracked to 4–9 business days, with the same-day cut-off at 14:00. Bulk orders get an import note attached before dispatch.
