Ordering IQOS to Australia: the practical version
Vanilla sounds like one product. It is not: a 30 ml shortfill running 20 mg/mL will taste nothing like the same blend on a different device, which is why we test before we recommend.
We run vanilla the same way in Australia: same 30 ml shortfill, same 8 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
The short version: vanilla in Australia works if the 30 ml shortfill, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a vanilla 30 ml shortfill really costs in Australia
The honest read on vanilla: 13 units through the same routine over 8 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.
How we tested vanilla in a 30 ml shortfill
- Pick the 30 ml shortfill that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 4–9 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a 30 ml shortfill arrives sealed but wrong.
- Coil type inside the 30 ml shortfill, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
Where vanilla goes wrong
- Buying the cheapest 30 ml shortfill available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
- Mixing vanilla with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
- Chasing a discount on a 30 ml shortfill that then needs an adapter nobody in Australia stocks.
The rules that apply here
Retail sales in Australia sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is 20 mg/mL. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.
Australia caps nicotine at 20 mg/ml outside legal prescription channels. Shipping of nicotine to Australia runs through tracked freight only, which is why the quoted window is stated per order.
| What it is | This page | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Flavour | Vanilla | Decides coil choice more than strength does |
| Format | 30 ml shortfill | Sets how much liquid you are actually buying |
| Stock checked | 13 lines | Batch-traced, dated production runs only |
| Nicotine ceiling | 20 mg/mL | Legal retail limit in Australia |
| Coil life | ~6 days | The hidden monthly cost |
| Delivery to Australia | 4–9 business days | Buffer the reorder around this |
| Entry kit | A$61 | What a first order really pays |
| Refill cost | A$2.22 / 10 ml | The figure that decides the habit |

Frequently asked questions
What nicotine strength should vanilla start at?
Start at whatever Australia allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a 30 ml shortfill.
How much does a 30 ml shortfill cost per 10 ml?
On the last run in Australia: about A$2.22 per 10 ml liquid plus A$61 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
How long does vanilla in a 30 ml shortfill last?
In Australia we measured 8 to 13 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
